Abstract
The subject ALGEBRA is the basic instrument that is being used is processing, simplifying, evaluating, and solving problems of higher mathematics, mechanics, and engineering subjects. It is on this context that this work textbook is being crafted and formulated.
Students and professors are given collaborative effort in using this textbook by the way of the class activities which can be found at the end of every topic. The students will do these activities inside the classroom within the prescribed time while the professors will give their share in explaining the illustrative problems.
The book is intended for the requirement of senior high school likewise for the college students. It is a compilation of simplifies topics of algebra and gives more emphasis on the detailed illustration or presentation of solution of the example or illustrative problems. Illustrative problems are given point for point explanations on the process of simplification which the authors think that it is very essential to the students. Basically, the students are very fond on the solutions of the examples, and they followed it step by step without thinking of the principles behind it. They relied deeply on the way the solutions were made in every problem.
On the side of the professors, the book will give an easy time for them in handling the subject courtesy of the simplified discussions in each topic. The students have a better view on all topics by looking on the illustrative problems and applied them by doing the class activities. It is the emphasis of this workbook to give the students and professors a collective accomplishment on the outcome of the entire course.
“There is a saying: Practice makes perfect.” With the many activities laid on this work textbook, the students are assured of the availability of problems to solve for their practice. Aside from the class activities, there are exercises that they can do at home for more practice.
We would like to thank Prof. Ferdinand Nocon for his diligence in giving some pointers in writing a book. His contributions on how to illustrate an example problem and essential contents of a topic were given an importance space in the entire workbook including some significant topics.
Lastly, we thank God for giving us the wisdom and knowledge to transform our little know-how in one workbook that can be an instrument of help not only for the students in gaining some knowledge in mathematics, but also for the professors in doing their part inside the classroom.
