Abstract
This book on Science, technology and Society, is designed in line with CHED CMO No. 200, series of 12013. As an instructional tool, it is meant to "engage students to confront realities brought about by Science, Technology and Society." The book is divided into six chapters with several lessons under each:

Chapter I deals with the General Concepts and Historical Developments. It includes three lessons on topics about realities and events which changed the course of Science an Technology, their role in nation building and government laws, policies, plans and projects related to Science and technology.

Chapter II which consists of four lessons focuses on the human flourishing in terms of science and technology, technology as a way of revealing the good life and when technology and humanity cross.

Chapter III discusses specific issues in science, technology, and society. Recent event as well as potentialities are mentioned and elucidated on particularly in the four lessons, entitled: the Information Age, Gene Therapy, Biodiversity and the Healthy Society and Nano World.

Chapter IV deals with climate change and energy crisis. The chapter presents what is climate change and its causes and effects to society and environment. A section is devoted to the write-up on how climate change has been and is affecting the Philippines. Another section elaborates on energy crises as well as its causes thus presenting possible solutions to it.

Chapter V talks about environmental awareness which is utmost concern to all of us. The lessons include the promotion of environmental education, its benefits and beliefs and convictions that we hold on to.

Chapter VI presents a discussion on alternative energy resources. The chapter distinguishes the two terms: alternative and renewable energy. It further shows the sources of both types of energy.

It is hoped that this book will assist each learner achieve the learning outcomes and develop his/her potentials to the fullest!
